Diamond District Jewelers, Reputable Jewelers, White Gold Diamond Engagement Rings and more…
As we mentioned last week, I.D. Jewelry is known best for its white gold diamond engagement rings. It sells a wide variety of pearl items, though, as well. Let’s take some time to discuss the origins and features of pearl jewelry.
The word “pearl” is derived from the Latin “perla.” Pearls are made from the nacre, or Mother of Pearl, secreted by mollusks, most commonly oysters. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes: round, semi-round, button, drop, pear, oval, baroque and circled. The first, round, are the rarest and most valuable (in a haul of three tons, it’s common that only 3 or 4 perfect pearls will be found). Similarly, the larger a pearl is the more valuable it will be. Culture pearls are typically less valuable than natural pearls, as well. The value of pearls is also sometimes based on their color, which can range from white to black and include pink, blue, champagne, green, black and even purple. It’s more common to see rings and earrings of these shades, as it can take years to collect enough of them to string a necklace.
Now that you know about the different shapes, colors and sizes of pearls, take a look at I.D. Jewelry’s pearl collection. I.D. Jewelry is one of the most reputable jewelers around, so you know you’ll be getting quality products.
