Cliche Engagement Proposals
Romance and creativity are what gets your lucky lady to say yes and accept diamond engagement rings. I’m all for fun and inventive ways to propose to someone. But for those of you thinking that these trite and cliche ideas are great, think again. Do not, I repeat do not try these on your girlfriends:
- Proposing on the jumbotron at your favorite sporting event. Unless your gal is completely obsessed with a sports team, this is ultra lame. The goal is to do something she loves, not you. Plus, some women just don’t like the idea of getting engaged in public.
- Putting white gold engagement rings in food. Personally, this just seems like a choking hazard and an accident waiting to happen. I don’t want chocolate cake on my ring and I certainly don’t want to swallow the ring.
- In front of the Disney castle. A lot of women may love the whole “magical Disney princess” idea, but everyone’s done it. Literally. Everyone has done this. Think of something new!
- Anything in Paris. Paris may be the most romantic city in the world, but again, been there done that.
The idea, gentlemen, is to do something that will wow her. Make it so there is no way she can say no.
